Jacquelyn Lorin has a passion for history, fiction and art. She grew up on a steady diet of historical romantic movies, historical biographic books and everything fiction.
Jacquelyn spent many years with her husband and family on the Louisiana south coast at the mouth of the Mississippi River. She has four children who have grown into impressive adults, and six grandchildren. She presently lives in the Greater New Orleans area along with her husband and their little black Mini Schnauzer, Sadie.
Jacquelyn’s fictional debut in 2014 was Forgotten, the Judas Rose Trilogy. Forgotten is the first book in a trilogy of espionage and conspiracy romances set during the American Civil War, available now at Amazon. “It’s not your classic Civil War romance with battles and magnolia moonlight,” she says about the books that feature a real secret organization from the time. Though she is pleased with the role the occupied city of New Orleans played in book three.
Presently Jacquelyn is branching out into a series of historical paranormal/fantasies that mix a bit of English Regency with the mysterious atmosphere of the Carpathian Mountains.
Why such a huge departure from her American Civil War trilogy? “I suppose my writing is a lot like my reading,” she says. “I read nearly everything, but most of it is historical in one era or another. So that’s the way I write. I think I will be staying with the new series a while though. I have so many exciting ideas for it that I can’t wait to get to.”
Look for the second book in her new Sons of Tyras series, The Lord of Light, coming soon!
