CATCHING UP

A lot has happened since my last post. I released the third book of the Judas Rose Trilogy then got all of my research together and participated in a national writing marathon known as NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, in order to focus on writing the first book in my new historically set Paranormal/Fantasy Romance. For one month I did very little else except write. I doubled the expected quota for the marathon, resulting in a finished novel. You can look forward to that being released in 2015.

So going back: The third book in the Judas Rose Trilogy came out in September. Forsaken is the story of one man’s determination for a reckoning against his deadly enemy, and by reason of his past is driven to forsake the one woman he has come to love more than life itself. The story unfolds against the lush backdrop of 1863 New Orleans and taps into the rich culture of the French Creoles of that time. It is of course the completion of the story of the Judas Rose, but it could stand alone, and yes, at this point I will admit it is my favorite of the three. I hope you will take time to check it out.

Looking ahead, my stories are taking a swing into a new genre. They were born on an inspiration. It started with just one thought provoking question of “what if,” and suddenly a whole world began to take shape and form itself around the answers. As much as I enjoy writing my American Historicals, and especially those set in New Orleans, I feel I have to tell these stories too. As I have said, the first draft is done, and I am very excited about it. I will write more about this series in the next post.
